Mike Broe, PT, DPT, CSCS is a compassionate physical therapist with a specific interest in cardiopulmonary conditioning and orthopedic exercise prescription. He practices at Tula Physical Therapy & Wellness, located in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village.
Dr. Broe graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology from Wagner College, located in Staten Island, New York. It was this interest in neuroscience that shapes the way he views habit formation and the psychosocial component of physical rehabilitation.
Dr. Broe is at heart, a martial artist; He is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt under world champion Marcelo Garcia. An avid practitioner of the sport, Mike studied under Marcelo full-time for 5 years before returning to school to pursue physical therapy. Mike earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from CUNY Hunter College, located in NYC, New York.
In his free time, Dr. Broe practices strength training and shoots archery. He is also the head instructor of an after school Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program at The Birch Wathen Lenox School in Manhattan, aimed at combating bullying and instilling an athletic base for children 5-13 years old. Mike strives to promote the importance of movement to all those under his care, regardless of age or experience.
