Claire grew up at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she learned early that the body is capable of remarkable things. As an elite athlete competing in triathlon and track, Claire developed a deep respect for human performance and what it takes to sustain it over time. That curiosity about the body led her to California Polytechnic State University, where she studied Kinesiology and Public Health and began to understand health not just as an individual pursuit, but as something shaped by environment, community, and circumstance.
She went on to earn her Doctor of Occupational Therapy at University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, graduating Magna Cum Laude and as a member of Pi Theta Epsilon, the occupational therapy honor society. Claire then became the founding occupational therapist at Mirabella at ASU, the world’s first university-based senior living high-rise, where she built the OT program from the ground up for a community redefining what luxury aging in place could look like.
Claire then moved to New York City, and everything she knew about aging was tested all over again. Over several years, she honed her clinical skills in fast-paced outpatient orthopedic and rehabilitation settings that demanded quick thinking, strong clinical judgment, and confident decision-making. Those experiences helped shape her into a more decisive and effective clinician.
It was her work in home health, however, that taught her something entirely different. Years spent caring for older adults in their homes across Manhattan gave her a firsthand understanding of how the city’s unique environments, the buildings, apartment layouts, and endless staircases, profoundly influence how people age and what they need to remain safe, independent, and engaged in the lives they love.
Unlike a traditional OT practice, Claire’s background, including more than a decade of specialized focus in upper extremity rehabilitation, training as a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and Senior Fitness Specialist, means each patient’s care is informed by a truly integrated understanding of how the body moves, adapts, and thrives. Patients are not getting a one-dimensional clinician. They are working with someone who understands the full picture.
Whether someone is recovering from an injury, navigating a new diagnosis, or simply trying to stay strong and independent in a city that demands a lot from the body, Claire is there to help them figure out what that looks like for their life, home, and goals
